    Laser welding

We provide high quality laser welding services using our MACS system (real time monitoring of the laser welding process).

We perform laser cleaning after welding and design and build laser welding robot stations entirely according to customer requirements.

We will be glad to advise you on the welding technology with the use of a laser and on the MACS system.

Laser welding consists of melting the contact surface of the objects to be joined by the heat generated by the application of a concentrated beam of coherent light with very high power density (about 102-1011 W/mm2) on the surface. Welding can be performed as in traditional arc welding or with complete melting of the joint, in one pass or in several passes, without or with a filler metal, i.e. using the molten pool technique.

The very high-power densities of the laser beam ensure that the welding line energies are at the minimum energies required to melt the joint and that the heat-affected zone and the melting zone are very narrow. At the same time, the distortion of the joint is so low that the welded parts can be finished without the need for further processing after welding.

By using the MACS system, it is possible to combine information about the position of the process head, based on data acquired directly from it, with spatial data about the position of the workpiece, making it possible to obtain satisfactory results even for very large objects that are laser welded in the production process.

Selected materials on which we perform laser welding

  • Unalloyed and low-alloy steels (HSLA)
  • High-strength structural steels, duplex stainless steels, Cr/Ni
  • Carbon steels
  • Aluminum alloys
  • Non-ferrous and dissimilar metals
  • Polymers for the automotive industry

Why it is worth to choose laser welding?

  • High speed during laser welding
  • Minimization of distortion after laser welding
  • Elimination of beveled connectors
  • Small width of the heat-affected zone
  • No additional machining or corrections are required after welding
  • High process accuracy
  • Achieving a strong weld without additional material
  • High repeatability of welds - multiple welds in a short time without having to reposition the robot for each welding operation
  • Very good weldability - possibility of joining different types of materials
  • Any weld shapes can be programmed
  • High weld seam purity
  • Possibility of automation and robotization of processes
  • Reduction of harmful effects on the operation and the environment
